As an HVAC Senior Project Manager, you will be a key leader within the organization, responsible for managing multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will work closely with safety, coordination, fabrication, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure consistent execution at the highest standard. Partnering with field superintendents and foremen, you will drive labor efficiency, maintain quality expectations, and reinforce the company's reputation as an industry leader.
Key Responsibilities
This role combines project oversight, field support, team development, and client engagement. Core responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing project budgets, schedules, and contract values in collaboration with Accounting, Coordination, and Estimating teams
- Reviewing and approving shop drawings, submittals, vendor proposals, and subcontractor scopes of work
- Coordinating material procurement and equipment deliveries to support project schedules
- Managing job cost reporting, cash flow, and manpower projections with direct input from field leadership
- Preparing and negotiating change orders, resolving contract issues, and ensuring successful project closeout
- Serving as a visible safety leader and promoting a strong safety culture across all job sites
- Mentoring and developing Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and co‑op staff
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, including participation in sales presentations and owner training as required
Qualifications
- 11-15 years of relevant experience managing complex HVAC construction projects
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, construction practices, and Massachusetts building codes, including ASHRAE, NFPA, and ASME standards
- Proven ability to solve problems, manage competing priorities, and lead teams effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam; experience with Navisworks and CMiC preferred
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
