Job Overview: Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Roadway Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to join a local Texas client. This role involves managing complex roadway projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage roadway engineering projects from conceptual design through construction, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs, providing regular updates, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project life-cycle.
- Design and Engineering: Oversee the development of roadway designs, including geometric design, pavement design, and traffic engineering. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations and industry standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review technical reports, design documents, and project status reports. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree in Transportation Engineering is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in roadway engineering
- Licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
- Skills:
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead multidisciplinary teams.
