Senior Technical Lead, LSP
Location: Fully Remote (Massachusetts-based projects)
Salary: $130,000-$180,000 Base Salary + Benefits
About the Opportunity
A growing multidisciplinary consulting organization is seeking an experienced Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional (LSP) to provide technical leadership for complex site assessment and remediation projects across the Commonwealth. This is a highly visible, senior-level role offering the opportunity to lead technical strategy, serve as LSP of Record, mentor project teams, and support a diverse portfolio of public and private-sector environmental projects.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise with the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP), strong project management capabilities, and a proven track record managing remediation programs from investigation through closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the LSP of Record for environmental investigation and remediation projects throughout Massachusetts.
- Provide technical leadership and regulatory guidance under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (310 CMR 40.0000).
- Review, prepare, and certifyMCPsubmittals, including:
- IRA and RAM Plans, Status Reports, and Completion Reports
- Phase I-V Reports
- Permanent Solution Statements
- Activity and Use Limitations (AULs)
- Direct and oversee:
- Site characterization and subsurface investigations
- Soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion assessments
- Environmental due diligence evaluations
- Human health and ecological risk assessments
- Remedial design and implementation programs
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical proposals.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Mentor and support environmental scientists, geologists, and engineers.
- Contribute to client development efforts and help expand environmental service offerings.
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Licensed Site Professional (LSP) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 15+ years of environmental consulting, remediation, regulatory, or related experience.
- 5+ years serving as an LSP of Record on Massachusetts projects.
- Demonstrated expertise with MCP regulations and MassDEP reporting requirements.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Site investigation methodologies
- Environmental sampling programs
- Risk assessment and exposure evaluations
- Remediation technologies and corrective actions
- Environmental compliance and regulatory strategy
- Proven project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel periodically to project sites and client meetings within Massachusetts.
