Lead the Delivery of Major Water Infrastructure Projects Across the Mid-South

Due to continued growth across their water practice, they are seeking an experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Design Manager to join their Memphis team and lead the delivery of complex municipal water and wastewater projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong leader who enjoys overseeing multidisciplinary teams, mentoring engineers, and delivering high-profile infrastructure projects from planning through construction.

The Opportunity

As a senior member of the Water & Wastewater practice, you will manage the engineering delivery of multiple projects across a variety of delivery methods, including:

• Design-Bid-Build
• Design-Build
• Progressive Design-Build
• Collaborative and alternative delivery projects

You'll work closely with project managers, technical leaders, and municipal clients to deliver critical infrastructure throughout the region.

Projects may include:

• Water treatment plant upgrades and expansions
• Wastewater treatment plant improvements
• Advanced treatment facilities
• Pump stations
• Large-diameter conveyance systems
• Collection and distribution networks
• Sustainable and carbon-neutral infrastructure initiatives

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering major municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Manage engineering execution across multiple projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
• Coordinate engineers, designers, and technical specialists across numerous disciplines.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, resource plans, and technical deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership on complex treatment and conveyance projects.
• Oversee engineering design activities and ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
• Act as a key liaison between clients, project teams, and project management leadership.
• Support business development activities, strategic pursuits, and proposal efforts.
• Identify client priorities and develop practical solutions to meet project objectives.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support staff development initiatives.
• Review engineering work and maintain a high standard of technical excellence across project teams.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering consulting experience within the water sector.
• Experience managing engineering design on municipal infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage competing priorities.

Preferred:

• Professional Engineer (PE) licence.
• Previous engineering consulting experience focused on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Experience delivering water treatment plant (WTP) and wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) upgrades and expansion projects.
• Experience leading complex multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Design-Build or alternative delivery experience.
• Strong background in treatment process, conveyance, or utility infrastructure projects.
