Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Roadway Project Engineer (PE) with 5+ years of highway or roadway design experience to join our expanding Transportation Group. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and proven experience delivering DOT, toll authority, or municipal roadway projects.
You will play a key role in project execution, design coordination, and team mentorship while supporting ongoing infrastructure projects throughout OK & TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform roadway and highway design tasks using OpenRoads Designer
- Prepare plans, profiles, cross-sections, and 3D models for transportation infrastructure
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, subconsultants, and DOT stakeholders
- Assist with project scoping, scheduling, and design quality reviews
- Develop engineering reports, calculations, quantity estimates, and technical documentation
- Support project managers in client communication and project delivery
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- Ensure compliance with TxDOT, ODOT, and local agency design standards
Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred but not required)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or Oklahoma (or ability to obtain quickly)
- 5+ years of experience in roadway/highway design
- Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
- Experience working with TxDOT, ODOT, FHWA, or similar agencies
- Strong understanding of geometric design, drainage considerations, and transportation engineering principles
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team environment
