The Role

A full-time Design Engineer is required to join a growing Orlando, Florida office. This role involves contributing to the design of structural systems across a variety of construction types and industries, including commercial, industrial, manufacturing, distribution, data centers, and parking structures.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Engineer of Record to develop designs, perform calculations, and prepare assessment reports
  • Carry out structural analysis of existing and new structures
  • Prepare drawings and specifications for construction, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations
  • Support project coordination and participate in internal and external meetings
  • Review project submittals and shop drawings
  • Attend site visits during construction to observe progress and gain exposure to construction practices
  • Organize and interpret field data to support analysis and problem-solving
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and design technicians
  • Attend meetings with clients, architects, and contractors
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Perform structural calculations in line with design standards and specifications
  • Use structural design software such as RAM, ETABS, SAFE, SAP, RAM Elements, and Tekla
  • Coordinate across disciplines to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and quality standards

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 1-3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD
  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification preferred

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Proactive, with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities
