Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design for small to mid-sized projects and contribute to larger, complex efforts across various sectors
- Perform structural analysis and design of building systems using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry
- Prepare and review structural calculations, technical reports, and construction documentation
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions
- Collaborate with BIM technicians to develop accurate and well-coordinated structural drawings
- Conduct site visits to support construction administration and respond to RFIs and submittals
- Participate in quality control reviews and ensure deliverables meet firm and client standards
- Support proposal development and fee estimation for new projects
- Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering technical growth and professional development
- Stay current with industry trends, code updates, and sustainability practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in structural building design
- California PE license required
- Strong knowledge of CBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and other structural standards
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, RISA, Enercalc)
- Working knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical concepts clearly
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
