Survey Crew Chief
We are working with a client that is seeking a skilled and experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations for land development, transportation, and municipal infrastructure projects. This role is essential in ensuring accurate data collection and coordination with engineering and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise field survey crews on a variety of projects including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking surveys.
- Operate and maintain survey instruments such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
- Interpret construction plans, plats, and legal documents.
- Ensure accurate and efficient data collection and documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project timelines.
- Perform quality control checks on field data and survey deliverables.
- Prepare and review field notes, cut sheets, and staking calculations.
- Conduct map and deed research as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of land surveying experience, with at least 2 years in a crew chief role.
- Proficiency with Trimble or Leica survey equipment.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey data processing software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.
Preferred Certifications:
- LSIT (Land Surveyor in Training) or PLS (Professional Land Surveyor) preferred.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
