📍 Glastonbury, Connecticut (Hybrid)

A leading, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Traffic Engineering Project Manager to join its growing transportation team in Connecticut.

This firm delivers high-impact infrastructure projects across the Northeast, partnering with state DOTs, municipalities, and private clients to improve mobility, safety, and connectivity across communities.

The Role

The successful candidate will take a lead role in the delivery of traffic and roadway projects from concept through construction. This is a client-facing leadership position with responsibility for project execution, team management, and business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead traffic engineering and roadway projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget
  • Oversee project delivery from initial planning through to construction
  • Manage and mentor junior engineers and technical teams
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with DOTs and local agencies (e.g., CTDOT, MassDOT)
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, compliant designs
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to project pursuits
  • Represent the firm within the local market and industry events

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain)
  • 8+ years of experience in traffic / transportation engineering
  • Strong background in DOT projects and public agency coordination
  • Proven experience managing projects, budgets, and timelines
  • Proficiency with CADD and delivering full design plan sets
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
