What You'll Be Doing
As a Power Systems Engineer, you'll dive into the heart of the grid, working on systems at 138 kV and above. Your job:
- Run power flow, voltage stability, transient stability, and short circuit analyses.
- Build and refine steady-state, short-circuit, and dynamic models.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to craft technical reports that shape the future of the grid.
- Guide the interconnection of new generation sources (renewables) through the planning cycle.
- Conduct and review system impact studies, including load flow, stability, and mitigation planning.
- Use tools like PSS®E and TARA for renewable energy projects.
What You Bring to the Table
- Master's or Ph.D. (Preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in power systems engineering.
- Solid understanding of electric power systems, including generators, motors, inverters, wind turbines, and solar.
- Hands-on experience with PSS®E, TARA, or DSA tools.
- Familiarity with modeling HVDC, VSC, STATCOM, SVC, and other advanced components.
- Bonus points for Python or IPLAN scripting skills!
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
