Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Transportation Planning Manager to lead a growing planning team and oversee a diverse portfolio of transportation projects. This role combines technical leadership, project management, client engagement, and business development.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop transportation planning staff.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables across multiple assignments.
- Oversee Traffic Impact Studies, Transportation Management Plans (TMPs), parking analyses, and multimodal transportation studies.
- Direct preparation of transportation-related sections for CEQA/NEPA documents, EIRs, corridor studies, and planning reports.
- Perform senior-level quality reviews of traffic models, technical analyses, and client deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for agency clients and project stakeholders.
- Support business development efforts, proposal preparation, and client interviews.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with public and private sector clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
- 10+ years of transportation planning experience with progressive project responsibility.
- 3+ years of supervisory or project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of VMT analysis, CEQA/NEPA requirements, and Caltrans project delivery processes.
- Experience with HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and ICU methodologies.
- California Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or Traffic Engineer (T.E.) license required.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and client management skills.
- Experience with PS&E development preferred.
- AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience is a plus.
