Travelling Project Manager- Industrial
We are seeking a driven and experienced Traveling Project Manager to lead large-scale industrial construction projects, including manufacturing, logistics, cold storage, and distribution facilities. This is a site-focused role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex field challenges, and excels at coordinating multiple stakeholders across the full construction lifecycle.
Initial projects are located in Minneapolis, MN and Idaho, with future opportunities at industrial project sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of industrial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, logistics, and manpower planning on-site.
Oversee subcontractor buyout, contract management, and performance to ensure adherence to scope, safety, and quality standards.
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring transparent communication.
Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and site-specific safety protocols.
Coordinate the installation of specialized systems including process equipment, structural steel, tilt-wall, and MEP systems.
Maintain and track project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress reports.
Qualifications:
7+ years of project management experience in industrial construction, including projects such as warehouses, manufacturing plants, or cold storage facilities.
Proven track record of managing ground-up construction projects ranging from $10M to $100M+.
Strong understanding of industrial building systems, including concrete, steel, MEP coordination, and process infrastructure.
Effective leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead field and office teams in a collaborative environment.
Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
Willingness to travel and remain on-site for extended durations based on project needs.
Preferred:
Experience with tilt-up construction, high-bay racking, or automated material handling systems.
Familiarity with fast-track scheduling and design-build delivery methods.
Background in delivering food-grade or temperature-controlled facilities is a plus.
