Travelling Superintendent- Cold-Storage Facilities
We are looking for a skilled Traveling Superintendent with deep experience in building complex cold storage and food & beverage facilities. This role is critical to delivering high-performance environments where precision, cleanliness, and temperature control are key. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee field operations for ground-up and renovation projects in cold storage, food processing, and beverage production environments.
Manage daily site activity, subcontractor coordination, safety enforcement, and progress tracking.
Ensure all work complies with project drawings, specifications, and industry standards, especially relating to USDA, FDA, and food safety regulations.
Lead construction sequencing and installation of specialized systems, including refrigeration, insulated metal panels, and hygienic finishes.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to drive quality and schedule performance.
Champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement on all job sites.
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience as a superintendent in commercial/industrial construction, with a focus on cold storage or food & beverage projects.
Strong working knowledge of refrigeration systems, sanitary design requirements, and temperature-controlled construction best practices.
Proven ability to manage subcontractors, construction schedules, and jobsite logistics in occupied or active facilities.
Ability and willingness to travel full-time to project sites throughout the Midwest and nationally.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Proficiency with digital construction tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.
OSHA 30 certification required; CPR/First Aid and other industry safety credentials are a plus.
Preferred: Experience creating and managing the full project schedule from preconstruction through closeout using scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent).
