Water/Wastewater Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for water and wastewater treatment projects spanning planning, design, construction support, and start-up activities
  • Lead or support project delivery for small to mid-sized assignments, including responsibility for scope execution, schedule coordination, and budget tracking
  • Conduct and support site-related activities including field observations, sampling oversight, and pilot or bench-scale efforts when required
  • Review construction-phase documentation such as shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals for alignment with design intent and contract requirements
  • Coordinate and integrate work across multiple disciplines including process, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and support staff
  • Support internal team development through coaching, technical guidance, and day-to-day mentorship of junior engineers
  • Foster clear, consistent communication across project teams and with client and partner organizations
  • Maintain and grow relationships with repeat public-sector and utility clients through reliable delivery and responsiveness
  • Collaborate with regional leadership and sales teams on opportunity identification and pursuit efforts
  • Contribute to proposal development, including work plans, level-of-effort assumptions, and fee development
  • Provide engineering support during construction as needed, including site services and contractor coordination
  • Periodic travel may be required based on project needs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or a related engineering discipline
  • Engineer-in-Training status or successful completion of the FE exam, with Professional Engineer licensure expected or required at more senior levels
  • Demonstrated experience delivering water or wastewater treatment projects, with increasing responsibility for cost control, schedule, quality, and coordination at higher levels
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting technical, budget, and schedule expectations
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate alternatives and develop practical solutions
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborative working style and comfort operating within multi-discipline teams
  • Self-directed, dependable, and accountable approach to work
  • Functional proficiency with standard business and technical software tools
