Role Overview
As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in the pre-construction phase, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for water infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure bids are commercially viable and technically sound.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil water infrastructure projects including earthworks, concrete structures, pipelines, and associated works.
Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope and risks.
Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
Develop and maintain cost databases and benchmarking tools.
Participate in tender reviews and bid strategy meetings.
Assist in value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives.
Support post-tender negotiations and handover to project delivery teams.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
5+ years of experience in estimating within the civil infrastructure sector, ideally with exposure to water-related projects.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and market rates.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Expert Estimation, Candy, or similar).
Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable
Experience with Sydney Water or other water authorities' standards and specifications.
Familiarity with collaborative contracting models (e.g., D&C, ECI, Alliance).
Membership with AIQS, Engineers Australia, or similar professional bodies.
