Electrical Principal Engineer
Position Overview
An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead and grow its data center design capabilities in Sydney. This is a strategic role combining technical leadership with commercial acumen, aimed at expanding the firm's footprint in the mission-critical infrastructure space.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design efforts for data center projects, from concept through to detailed design and delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and efficient solutions.
- Engage with clients to understand project requirements and propose tailored solutions.
- Support business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to data center design.
- Contribute to strategic planning and capability development within the electrical discipline.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design, with a strong focus on data center projects.
- Proven track record in delivering complex, high-value electrical systems within mission-critical environments.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with client-facing roles and commercial project development.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional registration or chartership is highly desirable.
