The Lead Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer will be responsible for...
- Leading the design and coordination of plumbing and fire protection systems across all phases of project delivery, from concept through construction.
- Developing advanced layouts, riser diagrams, and equipment selections for sanitary, storm, domestic water, gas, and fire protection systems.
- Reviewing submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings while ensuring designs remain constructible, code-compliant, and aligned with project goals.
- Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other project stakeholders throughout the design process.
- Mentoring junior engineers and designers through technical guidance, quality reviews, and professional development support.
- Participating in client meetings, field investigations, due diligence efforts, and construction administration activities.
The Lead Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer should have the following...
- 8+ years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design within the consulting engineering or built environment industry.
- Strong knowledge of sanitary, storm, domestic water, gas, sprinkler, and fire protection systems.
- Solid understanding of applicable plumbing, fire protection, and building codes, including NFPA standards.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating complex designs.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Fire Protection Engineering preferred. PE license is a plus but not required.
