Project Engineer

Our client, a reputable Civil Engineering firm, is seeking a Project Engineer to support ongoing growth in the Los Angeles area. Our client has initiated a massive growth plan and is looking for an Project Engineer to be the focal point of this endeavor.
This role is ideal for a mid‑level engineering professional with 5+ years of experience, proven capability in project coordination/management, and experience mentoring junior engineers.

- Base salary ranging from $100,000 to $130,000+, with the potential to exceed this range based on experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engineering tasks ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion
- Support senior staff and project managers with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication
- Prepare engineering calculations, design documents, technical reports, and analyses
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies
- Mentor, train, and support junior engineers and technical staff
- Participate in quality control reviews to ensure regulatory and technical compliance
- Assist in developing scopes of work, cost estimates, and proposal materials
- Conduct fieldwork, site evaluations, and inspections as required
Key Qualifications:
- 5+ years of engineering experience in relevant disciplines
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Experience supporting or performing project management tasks
- Demonstrated ability to train or mentor junior engineering personnel
- Strong communication skills; written, verbal, and client-facing
- Familiarity with Southern California (Long Beach/L.A. County) permitting processes and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with AutoCad and Civil3D
