Role Summary
Project Scope
- Rail and light rail infrastructure work for NJ Transit and PATCO
- Station builds, expansions, and renovations
- Traction power and substation systems
- Signal, communications, fiber, and other low-voltage systems
- Station power, lighting, emergency power, and life safety systems
- Yard facilities, maintenance shops, and operations centers
- Systems integration, testing, and cutovers
- Coordination across multi-prime and multi‑discipline environments
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from pre‑construction through turnover
- Maintain schedules, budgets, forecasts
- Manage change events and negotiate change orders
- Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors
- Support outage planning, track access, night/weekend work
- Resolve trade conflicts in constrained rail environments
- Primary contact for owners, CM teams, designers
- Conduct progress meetings and prepare reporting
- Enforce safety programs and rail agency requirements
- Identify risks tied to schedule, cost, and technical execution
- Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and rail standards
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, procurement
- Track productivity, delays, change events
- Support claims or time‑impact analyses when needed
Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Transit/rail or heavy infrastructure project management background
- ~5+ years experience
- Experience delivering transit/transportation or electrical infrastructure work
- ~10+ years experience delivering large, complex, multi‑year projects
- Direct public‑owner transit/rail experience (NJ Transit, PATCO, or comparable)
- Knowledge of traction power, substations, station electrical, low‑voltage systems
- Ability to interpret construction documents and manage multi‑phase scopes
- Proficiency with PM and scheduling platforms (P6/MS Project, Procore or similar)
- Strong contract comprehension and change management capability
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination ability
- Capacity to manage multiple parallel priorities and complex interfaces
- Direct experience with NJ Transit, PATCO, Amtrak, or similar agencies
- Design‑build or CM/GC experience
- Railroad safety training or qualifications
Work Environment
- Based in the New Jersey / Greater Philadelphia market
- Regular site presence required; night/weekend work aligned with track outages
- Fast‑paced, coordination‑heavy, schedule‑driven environment
