Overview
A well-established commercial general contractor with a strong national presence is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of ground-up and renovation projects across a variety of commercial and industrial market sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys managing complex projects, building long-term relationships, and working within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while maintaining strict control of budget, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of project management from project award through final completion and turnover.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, buyout strategies, and cost forecasts.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure project objectives are met.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement activities, and contract administration.
- Monitor project financial performance and implement proactive cost-control measures.
- Partner with field leadership to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
- Conduct regular project meetings and provide clear communication to all stakeholders.
- Review construction documents and identify potential risks, conflicts, or opportunities for value engineering.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and project teams throughout the construction process.
- Oversee project closeout activities including punch lists, owner training, and turnover documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience managing projects for a commercial general contractor.
- Demonstrated success overseeing ground-up commercial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, project scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and project contracts.
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
