Project Manager (Municipal / Industrial)
We're working with an exciting client who's looking to expand their team by bringing on experienced Project Managers to lead water infrastructure projects across either the municipal or industrial sectors. This role is open to candidates based in Sydney or Brisbane.
This is a fantastic opportunity for professionals with a strong background in water and wastewater treatment, who are ready to take ownership of projects from design through to commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver projects valued between $1M-$5M, including design, engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
- Oversee fixed-cost contracts, ensuring budget control, forecasting, and milestone payments.
- Handle contract management, WHS, environmental compliance, and quality assurance.
- Coordinate with internal technical and drafting teams, subcontractors, and site personnel.
- Prepare and maintain project Gantt charts, quality plans, and site commissioning schedules.
- Contribute technical input and ensure smooth project execution both on-site and in-office.
Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ years of project management experience in the water sector (municipal or industrial).
- Proven track record in delivering external client-facing projects (not internal engineering roles).
- Familiarity with Australian Contract Standards (e.g., AS4300).
- Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Must have local experience in Australia.
