Senior Scheduling Construction Manager
Location: Project-based; 50-75% U.S. travel required. Must be near a major airport.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scheduling Construction Manager to support large-scale, mission-critical construction programs. This role focuses on developing, managing, and analyzing complex project schedules from early planning through completion, ensuring successful delivery, risk mitigation, and informed decision-making.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams across design, construction, and commissioning while operating with a high degree of independence. The role may also involve guiding junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Scheduling & Project Oversight
- Develop and manage detailed construction schedules for complex projects
- Review contractor schedules and provide independent analysis
- Identify risks and develop mitigation/recovery strategies
- Communicate schedule updates to stakeholders clearly
Preconstruction & Planning
- Support baseline schedules, milestones, and sequencing plans
- Align schedules with design, procurement, and construction requirements
- Identify risks related to long-lead items, permitting, and commissioning
Execution & Controls
- Maintain schedules (Primavera P6) with accurate logic and progress tracking
- Analyze updates, delays, and recovery plans
- Support coordination across multiple workstreams (e.g., MEP, commissioning)
Reporting & Tools
- Produce dashboards, reports, and schedule narratives
- Use scheduling and analytics tools to track performance and trends
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders
Continuous Improvement
- Use digital and AI tools to improve efficiency and consistency
- Support process improvements and adoption of new technologies
Requirements
- Strong experience in construction scheduling for large, complex projects
- Proficiency in Primavera P6; familiarity with project controls tools
- Understanding of full project life-cycle (planning through closeout)
- Ability to assess risks and communicate insights effectively
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff preferred
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience)
- ~8+ years of experience in construction scheduling
Additional Details
- Significant travel required (up to 75%)
- Must meet safety training requirements
- Occasional site visits in active construction environments
