The role - Resident Engineer
As the Resident Engineer, you'll act as the owner's representative, leading construction efforts from start to finish:
- Manage construction projects, ensuring delivery on schedule, budget, and quality
- Lead meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
- Review plans/specs and enforce contract compliance
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Supervise field inspection teams and provide technical guidance
- Maintain cost controls, scheduling, and reporting
- Serve as the key liaison between agencies, contractors, and consultants
What they're looking for
- PE license in California
- 10+ years in construction/design/engineering roles within infrastructure
- 5+ years as a Resident Engineer or managing public works construction projects
- Experience with transportation or transit-related projects
- Strong communication skills and leadership presence
