As part of continued growth across the Southeast, the firm is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its Nashville team.

Role Overview

This position offers an opportunity to take ownership of complex site development projects while serving as a technical leader and trusted advisor to clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, staff development, client engagement, and business growth initiatives.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners, environmental professionals, and survey specialists, you will contribute to high profile projects from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead civil engineering design efforts for land development and site infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, scope, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, utility, stormwater management, erosion control, and site development plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams.
  • Review engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and development support to junior engineering staff.
  • Support permitting and entitlement processes with local and state agencies.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project strategy discussions.
  • Identify opportunities for project growth and strengthen existing client relationships.
  • Contribute to business development activities and proposal preparation when appropriate.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with applicable regulations, standards, and company quality expectations.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain through reciprocity shortly after hire.
  • 5+ years of civil engineering experience focused on land development, site development, or related infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of site design, grading, drainage, utility design, and stormwater management principles.
  • Experience preparing engineering plans and supporting project permitting efforts.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
