Senior Project Manager - Mission Critical
LVI Associates have partnered with a Tier 1 global consultancy here in Kansas City who are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead and coordinate all phases of construction projects from pre-construction through final delivery and warranty. This role is focused on mission-critical facilities, particularly data centers, and involves managing safety, quality, timelines, budgets, contracts, subcontractors, vendors, proposals, estimates, documentation, client engagement, and field personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion and enforce company safety standards, training, and protocols across all project teams and subcontractors.
- Lead daily construction operations and ensure successful delivery of one or more projects concurrently.
- Guide project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and goal setting.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships; serve as the primary contact for proposals and project matters.
- Participate in risk assessments and collaborate with legal teams as needed.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, including prime, CM, and subcontract agreements.
- Execute project plans covering construction, quality, safety, staffing, procurement, and subcontracting.
- Develop and manage staffing strategies; coordinate cross-functional teams for optimal resource use.
- Ensure all necessary permits are obtained and maintained.
- Oversee RFPs, bid evaluations, and subcontractor selection processes.
- Review and present project reports including budgets, forecasts, and progress updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to align deliverables with project timelines.
- Manage contract administration processes such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeouts.
- Supervise invoicing for all project-related contracts.
- Support commissioning and startup activities with clients and vendors.
- Maintain accurate and complete project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with insurance, licensing, tax, and bonding requirements.
- Conduct audits on safety, quality, progress, and financials.
- Manage non-conformance reporting and resolution.
- Oversee cost tracking, scheduling, and project setup/closeout.
- Supervise material handling, inventory, and logistics.
The Ideal candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 13 years of relevant experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management tools is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in sectors such as aviation, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, transportation, or water is preferred.
- Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles.
- Must meet company driving eligibility requirements.
