Overview
We are seeking a creative, detail‑oriented, and technically strong Architectural Design Engineer to join our team. This role blends architectural design principles with engineering expertise to deliver innovative, functional, and sustainable solutions across diverse building projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop architectural and engineering designs for commercial, residential, and industrial projects
- Produce detailed construction drawings, models, and technical specifications using advanced CAD/BIM platforms
- Collaborate with structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to produce fully integrated designs
- Conduct building systems analyses and perform required technical calculations
- Ensure all designs adhere to building codes, zoning requirements, and safety standards
- Incorporate sustainable design strategies with a focus on energy efficiency and environmental performance
- Review and respond to contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs
- Perform site visits to verify construction progress and confirm alignment with design intent
- Work directly with clients to understand project goals, constraints, and technical needs
- Prepare and present design concepts, proposals, and supporting documentation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural design and engineering
- Professional licensure (RA, PE, or equivalent) preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard design tools
- Strong understanding of building systems, materials, and construction methods
- Knowledge of building codes, regulatory standards, and industry best practices
- Experience with sustainable design principles and LEED frameworks
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Proven project management capabilities
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering
- LEED AP or other sustainability-related accreditation
- Experience with parametric design tools
- Understanding of construction cost estimation processes
- Familiarity with energy modeling and building performance software
- Experience designing specialized building types (e.g., healthcare, education, laboratories)
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in BIM platforms (e.g., Revit, ArchiCAD)
- Experience with 3D modeling and visualization tools (SketchUp, 3ds Max, etc.)
- Capability with energy modeling and analysis tools
- Strong command of Microsoft Office
- Experience with project management or scheduling software
