Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering efforts for the design, rehabilitation, and construction of water, wastewater, and reuse treatment facilities
- Prepare engineering designs, technical reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Manage full project lifecycles, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards
- Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance
- Collaborate with other project managers and team leaders to achieve project and company goals
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and permitting requirements
- Manage subconsultants and contribute to alternative analysis efforts
- Support business development and proposal preparation, including technical presentations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- 15+ years of experience in the water industry, with significant project management experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia, or ability to obtain registration promptly
- Proven track record managing water and/or wastewater treatment projects of varying scale
- Strong background in facilities planning, process modeling, condition assessments, and capital improvement programs (CIP)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Experience with both design and construction phases
- DBIA certification or other relevant industry credentials
