BAS - Field Systems Specialist (75% Travel)
A leading building automation and controls specialist is seeking an experienced Controls Technician / Controls Engineer to support project delivery across multiple sites. This role is heavily field-based and will focus on programming, commissioning, start-up, and on-site technical support for building automation systems.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara (N4) and/or Distech Controls, and enjoys working on technically challenging projects in live environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, configure, and commission Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Perform system start-up, point-to-point checks, and full functional testing
- Develop and modify control strategies, logic, and graphics
- Commission HVAC systems including AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, CHW/HW systems, plant rooms, etc.
- Troubleshoot software, network, and field device issues on-site
- Support integration with third-party systems (BMS, meters, VFDs, chillers, boilers, etc.)
- Attend site meetings and work closely with project managers and clients
- Produce commissioning reports, test documentation, and close-out packages
- Provide remote and on-site support during project delivery and handover
Technical Requirements
- Strong experience with Tridium Niagara N4 and/or Distech Controls
- Solid background in BAS/DDC programming and commissioning
- Understanding of HVAC systems and control sequences
- Experience with IP networking, BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks
- Ability to read and interpret control drawings and specifications
- Comfortable working independently on-site
Preferred Experience
- HMI / graphics development
- Data centres, commercial offices, healthcare, or mission-critical environments
- Integration with BMS, EPMS, or SCADA systems
- Trend analysis, optimisation, and performance testing
- Electrical or controls-related qualifications
