BESS and PV Electrical Engineer
BESS / Solar Electrical Engineer
Location: NJ (Hybrid or Remote Work Option)
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced BESS and Solar Electrical Engineer to join their team. This role offers flexibility for hybrid or remote work, though is based out of their NJ office.
Responsibilities
Support multiple phases of energy storage and solar PV projects including:
Site investigations, CAD production, design, and construction documents
Design Development and concept design packages
Lead full project electrical design from concept through construction
Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables for client projects
Perform and oversee tasks such as:
BESS system design and photovoltaic layout
Electrical distribution and medium voltage design
Single-line diagrams, power studies (ETAP), and utility coordination
Conductor/raceway sizing and voltage drop calculations
Specification preparation and code compliance review
Participate in client meetings and interface where required
Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years of solar and BESS experience
Proven experience producing quality construction documents in a mid-to-senior design role
Strong mentoring skills for junior staff
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Familiarity with ETAP, PVsyst, and related tools
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
