Bridge Design Project Engineer

Role Summary
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end development of structural design documentation for transportation-related infrastructure, with a primary focus on bridge systems. This includes producing detailed engineering calculations, reviewing technical deliverables for quality and compliance, and providing guidance to junior engineers throughout the design process.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of structural analysis and design documentation, including calculations and technical drawings.
- Prepare comprehensive contract documents, including construction plans and technical specifications.
- Generate and validate cost estimates for structural components, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
- Review construction-related submissions for technical adequacy and alignment with design intent.
- Support project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather data for design refinement.
- Provide on-site engineering support during construction to address field issues and ensure design integrity.
- Mentor junior engineering staff, fostering growth in technical skills and professional judgement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in bridge design and transportation infrastructure
- PE license required
Work Environment
- Office-based with access to collaborative and technical resources
- Occasional travel to project site for inspections, data collection, and construction support
- Supportive supervision and access to mentorship and professional developmental resources
