About the Role
We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a Building Envelope Consultant. This role combines technical expertise, problem-solving, and client engagement to diagnose and resolve complex building envelope challenges. You will work on historic and modern structures, ensuring safety, performance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve building envelope issues through on-site assessments, testing, and forensic analysis.
- Manage a portfolio of client projects, ensuring timely delivery of proposals, reports, budgets, and presentations.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop practical solutions.
- Lead and coach team members to achieve project goals and maintain high standards.
- Conduct site visits across Boston, including historic properties and high-rise structures.
- Perform hands-on tasks such as leak testing, photography, and occasional physical work (e.g., climbing ladders, using tools).
- Ensure compliance with Boston and Massachusetts building codes and intervene when safety or quality standards are not met.
- Create clear, well-organized documents, CAD drawings, and spreadsheets for client presentations.
Qualifications
- PE License (Professional Engineer) preferred
- 5+ years of experience
- Strong experience in building envelope systems and restoration
- Curiosity and analytical skills to solve complex technical problems.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication skills for building lasting client and team relationships.
- Proficiency in document layout, CAD, and spreadsheet tools.
