Position Summary
A growing player in the renewable energy sector is seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead growth efforts in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) space. This role focuses on identifying and securing turnkey solar PV and hybrid solar-plus-storage projects across utility-scale, commercial & industrial (C&I), and distributed generation (DG) markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the solar project lifecycle, a robust network of industry contacts, and a proven track record of closing high-value EPC contracts.


Key Responsibilities

Market Development & Strategy

  • Identify and prioritize EPC opportunities across North America in the solar and solar-plus-storage sectors.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies targeting IPPs, developers, and large energy users.

Client Engagement & Sales

  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders including developers, utilities, C&I clients, and public agencies.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and RFP response to contract negotiation and close.
  • Leverage industry network to generate and convert leads into EPC contracts.

Proposal & Technical Coordination

  • Lead proposal development and presentations in collaboration with estimating, engineering, and project management teams.
  • Ensure accurate pricing, scope clarity, and risk mitigation in bids.
  • Help establish internal processes for efficient bidding.

Partnership & Pipeline Development

  • Collaborate with procurement to build partnerships with vendors, subcontractors, and financial entities.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline aligned with quarterly and annual revenue targets.

Industry Insights

  • Monitor regulatory developments and market trends to inform strategy.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Renewable Energy, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 4-6 years of experience in solar EPC or utility-scale solar business development.
  • Proven success in securing EPC contracts.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV design, permitting, interconnection, and construction.
  • Familiarity with energy storage, PPA structures, and incentive programs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
