Civil Construction Superintendent

Position Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations within their Civil Division. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing day to day jobsite activity, with a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, cost control, and team execution.
Bridge experience is ideal, and this position is best suited for someone who has led crews on bridge, transportation, heavy civil, or structural concrete projects. The Superintendent will work closely with project managers, owners, inspectors, subcontractors, and field teams to keep projects moving safely and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily field operations on bridge and heavy civil projects
- Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and site resources
- Review plans, specifications, schedules, and project requirements before work begins
- Work closely with project managers to support job planning, forecasting, and execution
- Maintain and update short term schedules to keep crews and subcontractors aligned
- Monitor jobsite safety and help ensure safe work practices are followed
- Perform regular site inspections and support company safety goals
- Track production, field progress, materials, and equipment needs
- Coordinate with owners, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Help resolve field issues related to sequencing, access, quality, safety, and schedule
- Support cost control by monitoring labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor performance
- Maintain daily reports, field documentation, and communication with project leadership
- Ensure work is completed to contract requirements, quality standards, and project expectations
- Support closeout activities and help drive projects through final completion
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of field leadership experience in heavy civil construction
- Previous experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, or similar field leadership role
- Strong understanding of bridge work, transportation projects, structural concrete, civil construction methods, and project sequencing
- Experience directing craft labor, subcontractors, equipment, and field resources
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, and contract documents
- Strong safety mindset with experience supporting safe jobsite practices
- Solid communication skills with the ability to work well with owners, inspectors, project managers, and crews
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts on active jobsites
- Experience with ODOT and/or bridge construction work is preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Viewpoint Vista, HCSS, P6, or CAD is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred, but equivalent field experience will be considered
