Civil/Structural Engineer
Currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Civil/Structural Engineer to support the design, assessment, and execution of infrastructure projects at our manufacturing facility. In this hands-on role, you'll combine engineering expertise with project management capabilities to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our structural assets.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct structural and civil assessments of existing equipment and facility infrastructure
Review and provide design feedback for a wide range of new mill installations
Perform engineering calculations and designs for fit-for-service assessments, floor/structural loads, lifting structures, and equipment foundations
Lead and oversee construction activities for civil and structural projects at the facility
Manage external civil/structural engineering contractors as required to balance workload
Maintain and prioritize a portfolio of infrastructure repairs (e.g. roofs, roadways, and buildings)
Manage capital projects with a civil or structural scope, guiding them through all phases including scope development, scheduling, and budgeting
Coordinate contract resources to support engineering initiatives and projects
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
Minimum of 3 years experience as a civil/structural design engineer in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting
Strong proficiency in structural design practices, including:
Fit-for-service calculations
Load analysis
Lifting structure design
Foundations for motors and pumps
Proficient in AutoCAD
Preferred Qualifications
Over 5 years of hands-on experience in civil/structural design engineering
Proven ability in project and construction management within a manufacturing environment
Experience preparing investment proposals for civil and structural projects
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
Holds a valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
