Overview
A well-established, employee-owned engineering consulting firm is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join its Mechanical Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full commissioning lifecycle, supporting HVAC and plumbing systems on both new construction and existing building projects. You'll collaborate with engineers, contractors, and owners to ensure systems are installed correctly, tested thoroughly, and operating as designed.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support commissioning activities for HVAC and plumbing systems
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and project meetings
- Perform functional testing and verify system performance
- Develop commissioning plans, schedules, and reports
- Review contractor startup and testing documentation
- Demonstrate system operation to clients and project teams
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support successful project delivery
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in commissioning, consulting, or mechanical systems
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and installation practices
- Familiarity with building automation / controls systems
- Experience with system testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and travel to project sites as needed
Preferred Background
- Associate's degree in HVAC Technology or related field
- OR relevant hands-on experience (e.g., mechanical/HVAC contractor background)
