  • Traffic Engineer (EIT)

    Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX

    Position Summary

    We are seeking a Traffic Engineer (EIT) to support the planning, analysis, and design of transportation projects throughout Texas. This role will work closely with traffic engineers, roadway designers, and public agency clients to develop innovative transportation solutions for state, municipal, and toll authority projects.

    The ideal candidate will have experience in traffic operations, traffic studies, and transportation design, with an interest in supporting projects from initial analysis through final design and construction.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and support Traffic Impact Analyses (TIA) for commercial, residential, mixed-use, and municipal developments.
    • Perform traffic modeling and operational analyses using industry-standard software and methodologies.
    • Assist with the design of traffic signals, signal timing plans, and intersection improvements.
    • Support ADA compliance reviews and pedestrian accessibility improvements.
    • Develop roadway illumination and lighting designs for transportation projects.
    • Assist in the design and deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) including communications, detection, and traffic management infrastructure.
    • Support toll gantry design and layout coordination for toll road facilities.
    • Prepare signing and pavement marking plans in accordance with TxDOT and local agency standards.
    • Coordinate with roadway, drainage, utility, and structural engineering teams on multidisciplinary projects.
    • Assist with traffic engineering design packages, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
    • Participate in client meetings and work directly with public agencies, municipalities, and transportation authorities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
    • Texas EIT certification required.
    • 2+ years of traffic engineering or transportation design experience.
    • Experience supporting traffic studies, traffic operations, or transportation design projects.
    • Familiarity with TxDOT standards, MUTCD, and transportation engineering principles.
    • Experience with traffic analysis and modeling software such as Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, SIDRA, or similar platforms.
    • Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or related software.
    • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
    • Desire to pursue Texas PE licensure.
