Key Responsibilities
- Design and prepare subdistribution voltage packages for overhead and underground systems, including feeder replacements, voltage conversions, and new installations.
- Develop line extensions and service designs for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
- Create and manage project scopes, materials, and documentation using tools like SAP or Maximo.
- Conduct field visits to gather notes and support construction coordination.
- Collaborate with permitting and right-of-way teams to secure necessary approvals.
- Lead QA/QC efforts and ensure compliance with NESC and utility standards.
- Utilize CAD and GIS tools for system design and mapping.
- Support smart grid automation and integration of smart devices.
- Track project progress and ensure timely closeout.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (ABET accredited).
- 3-5 years of experience in electrical distribution engineering.
- FE/EIT certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of power flow, construction methods, and distribution equipment.
- Proficiency in design software and GIS platforms.
