Earthwork & Utility Project Manager

Location: Woodinville, WA
Compensation: $135,000-$185,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time

A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Earthwork & Utility Project Manager to lead site development and underground utility projects throughout Woodinville and the greater Eastside. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage earthwork and underground utility projects from award through completion
  • Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and profitability
  • Coordinate closely with superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Lead subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and change management
  • Review and manage schedules, production plans, and project milestones
  • Process submittals, RFIs, pay applications, and closeout documentation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with owners, engineers, and inspectors
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs, contract documents, and project specifications

Experience Needed

  • 7+ years of experience managing heavy civil / site development projects
  • Strong background in:
    • Mass grading and earthwork
    • Underground utilities (water, sewer, storm)
    • Site development and infrastructure construction
  • Experience managing both public works and private development projects
  • Proven track record of managing complex scopes and multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working with municipalities, utility agencies, and third‑party inspectors

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong understanding of civil drawings, specifications, and construction means and methods
  • Proficiency with project management and cost control software
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and subcontractors effectively
  • Valid driver's license
