Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and engineering efforts for a diverse range of projects. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems, working closely with clients, project teams, and other engineering disciplines. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in electrical engineering design, a strong understanding of industry codes and standards, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and educational buildings, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and security systems.
• Perform detailed electrical calculations and system analysis, including load calculations, voltage drop, short-circuit, and coordination studies.
• Develop and review electrical plans, schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction documents.
• Ensure designs meet all local, state, and national codes, including NEC, NFPA, and industry-specific standards.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers, ensuring quality standards and best practices are followed.
• Lead project teams, manage project timelines and budgets, and maintain client relationships.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure electrical systems are installed per design specifications and in compliance with codes.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and bids, including estimating project costs and resources.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and evolving codes and standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in a consulting or design-build environment.
• Strong expertise in electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and security systems.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, etc.).
• Proven experience leading design teams and managing client relationships.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• LEED accreditation is a plus, but not required.
