A well-established, employee-owned architecture and engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Atlanta team. This is an opportunity to work within a strong electrical engineering practice focused on building systems design, critical facilities, sustainability, and alternative energy solutions. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead complex electrical system design, mentor junior staff, collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure the delivery of high‑quality engineering packages. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, guiding teams, and working on diverse, mission‑driven projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design of electrical systems for complex building and infrastructure projects
* Oversee power distribution, lighting and controls, grounding, lightning protection, emergency power, and UPS systems
* Conduct load flow, short circuit, and voltage drop analysis
* Perform feasibility studies and provide input on system layout and design strategies
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and contractors to deliver complete design packages
* Provide mentorship, direction, and technical oversight to junior engineers and designers
* Support construction and commissioning activities
* Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and client requirements
* Contribute to developing and improving internal electrical design standards
* Communicate effectively across design teams and with clients

Requirements
* 10+ years of Electrical Engineering experience
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural/Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology (ABET-accredited)
* Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 3 months
* Experience in building system electrical design
* Familiarity with modeling software such as ETAP, SKM, or AGI
* Understanding of sustainable and alternative energy design practices
* Eligibility to work in the U.S. and obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior consulting experience
* Federal government project experience
* Medium voltage distribution system design
* Functional knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
* LEED accreditation or LC certification
