Electrical Engineer
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong interest in designing electrical power and control systems for water and wastewater facilities. This role focuses on the planning, design, and implementation of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems that support critical treatment and conveyance infrastructure. The ideal candidate is technically curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow as a designer within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical power distribution systems for water and wastewater facilities, including medium- and low-voltage systems
- Develop control system architectures for treatment plants, pump stations, and remote facilities
- Prepare electrical construction documents, including:
- One-line diagrams
- Control schematics and wiring diagrams
- Panel layouts and equipment schedules
- Instrumentation and I/O lists
- Specify electrical and control equipment such as MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, network components, and field instrumentation
- Coordinate electrical and control designs with process, mechanical, and civil engineering disciplines
- Support SCADA system design, including network architecture and integration with PLC-based control systems
- Perform power system calculations (load calculations, short-circuit, arc flash, grounding)
- Assist with cost estimates, equipment procurement, and bid evaluations
- Provide engineering support during construction, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site visits
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, local utility requirements)
