Energy Transition Manager
A leading U.S. energy developer is seeking a driven and experienced candidate to support the next wave of reliable, dispatchable power generation and decarbonization projects. This role will play a key part in the project management, execution, and development of greenfield natural gas generation, hydrogen production, and carbon capture initiatives.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience, but flexibility will be offered for exceptional applicants. Candidates must be self‑motivated, intellectually curious, and proactive in driving project tasks to completion on time and on budget. Experience developing large‑scale utility or energy infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with U.S. power markets, ISO operations, generation economics, and financial modeling is a plus. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
This position reports to a Vice President of Development.
Summary of Responsibilities
The role includes responsibility for selecting, permitting, and executing U.S.-based energy development projects in alignment with company investment and development objectives. General responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing development activities for active projects
- Negotiating necessary development agreements
- Managing the permitting process and resolving issues as they arise
- Engaging with local communities to build project support
- Managing relationships and developing commercial agreements with potential offtakers
- Directing external consultants and coordinating with internal teams including engineering, finance, origination/energy management, external affairs, legal, and asset management
- Completing administrative responsibilities, including project updates for management, budgeting, and internal compliance
Desirable Attributes
- Relevant energy project development experience with a strong record of successful project delivery
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field
- Highly self‑driven, organized, and able to collaborate across all organizational levels
- Strong financial skills, including understanding of project P&L, pro forma modeling, and NPV/IRR analysis
- Understanding of real estate and title matters
- Ability to gather, organize, and analyze complex information
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to move from concept through analytical evaluation to actionable solutions
- Excellent writing, communication, presentation, interpersonal, financial analysis, and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment background and credit check
