Overview
A growing engineering consulting organization in the power and energy sector is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead technical and commercial consulting engagements supporting power generation and energy infrastructure projects. This role will work closely with developers, utilities, investors, lenders, and project stakeholders through all phases of project development, evaluation, and execution.
Due to continued growth within the consulting practice, the successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary project teams while providing strategic guidance on complex energy projects across a variety of generation technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project execution plans that align with client objectives and project requirements.
- Lead consulting teams and provide direction on technical approaches and project deliverables.
- Review and oversee technical studies, reports, and analyses to ensure quality standards are met.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff through training and project leadership.
- Prepare proposals and support business development efforts for new consulting opportunities.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, investors, developers, and industry stakeholders.
- Travel periodically to project sites and client locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline). Additional backgrounds in economics, finance, or similar fields may be considered.
- 15+ years of experience within the power generation, utility, or energy consulting industry.
- Experience supporting the development, evaluation, design, financing, or execution of power generation projects.
- Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and complex project portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of multiple generation technologies, such as:
- Conventional/Thermal Power
- Solar Energy
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Wind Energy
- Experience conducting technical assessments, feasibility studies, or project evaluations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact directly with senior stakeholders and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with long-term resource planning, transmission planning, or energy market studies.
- Exposure to project finance, financial modeling, or investment due diligence within the energy sector.
- Knowledge of major project agreements, including EPC contracts, energy offtake agreements, and asset acquisition transactions.
- Previous experience in a client-facing consulting environment.
