Engineering Manager
Position Overview
The Engineering Manager will lead and manage engineering activities for newbuilding projects within the shipyard division. This role involves providing technical expertise, supporting commercial teams during tender exercises, and ensuring compliance with classification rules and maritime regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong shipbuilding experience, excellent design interpretation skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Business Support
- Provide engineering support to marketing teams for client retention and acquisition in the shipbuilding division.
- Assist commercial teams in tender exercises for newbuilding and conversion projects.
Technical Review & Design
- Review contracts, technical specifications, and equipment requirements to ensure compliance with design obligations.
- Develop basic design concepts aligned with newbuilding tender requirements.
- Interpret classification rules and maritime regulations; ensure adherence throughout project lifecycle.
- Read and analyze design drawings for accuracy and feasibility.
Project Execution
- Prepare drawing schedules and coordinate technical meetings with clients, classification societies, designers, vendors, and system integrators.
- Execute newbuilding design and engineering production plans for awarded projects.
Team Collaboration
- Work independently and lead a team to deliver engineering objectives within timelines and budget.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in shipyard engineering, with a focus on newbuilding projects.
- Strong understanding of classification rules, maritime regulations, and ship design principles.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders
