Process Automation Engineer
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Job Type: Full-time | Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote after 1 year)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Automation Engineer to join our team and deliver innovative automation solutions to clients in the bulk manufacturing process industries. Our primary sectors include Chemical, Life Sciences, Metals & Mining, Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, and Pulp & Paper. (Please note: we do not provide automation services for discrete manufacturing or machine control industries such as Automotive.)
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop and deliver process automation applications.
Design control strategies and develop software using Emerson's DeltaV automation system.
Interpret and work with P&ID drawings and electrical schematics.
Apply knowledge of control instrumentation (e.g., pressure, flow, valves, temperature, motor drives).
Gain proficiency in batch control using ISA S88 standards.
Support system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning at customer sites.
Participate in customer site visits and provide ongoing service and support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
Willingness to travel up to 10% within Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan.
Strong interest in automation, manufacturing processes, and control systems.
Experience in either equipment control or computer application development is beneficial, though not required.
