About the Role

A leading commercial roofing contractor is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join their team. This role is critical to the success of the business, supporting the sales and operations teams by preparing accurate and competitive bids for roofing projects across industrial, institutional, and commercial sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial roofing systems and at least 2-3 years of experience in estimating within the roofing or construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for commercial roofing projects including re-roofs, repairs, and new construction.
  • Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and site conditions to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and material calculations for roofing systems such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, built-up roofing, and metal roofing.
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales representatives, and suppliers to gather pricing and ensure bid accuracy.
  • Conduct site visits to assess roof conditions and identify potential challenges.
  • Maintain and update estimating tools, databases, and historical cost records.
  • Track bid performance and assist in post-bid reviews and negotiations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, material costs, and competitive pricing strategies.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in commercial roofing estimating or a related construction estimating role.
  • Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Edge, PlanSwift, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
