Position Overview

The Federal Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site construction activities for federal projects, ensuring compliance with government regulations, contract specifications, and safety standards. This role serves as the primary point of contact between the project team, subcontractors, and federal representatives, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Supervise all phases of construction, including site preparation, structural work, and finishing, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with federal regulations, building codes, environmental standards, and security requirements.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and labor resources to meet deadlines.
  • Quality Control: Monitor workmanship and materials to maintain high-quality standards and resolve any deficiencies promptly.
  • Safety Enforcement: Implement and enforce safety protocols in accordance with OSHA and federal guidelines; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and documentation required for federal audits and project tracking.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the liaison between federal agencies, project managers, and on-site personnel; provide regular updates on progress and issues.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and address potential delays, conflicts, or technical challenges to keep the project on track.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision, with at least 2 years on federal or government projects.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification required; additional federal security clearances may be necessary.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; proficiency in construction scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with federal contracting processes, FAR regulations, and quality assurance standards.
