Key Responsibilities
As a Geotechnical Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting project feasibility evaluations, engineering analyses, and foundation design efforts.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and foundation design calculations
- Apply soil mechanics principles to evaluate site conditions and develop engineering recommendations
- Support project feasibility studies and technical assessments
- Review geotechnical reports, subsurface investigations, and construction documents
- Prepare engineering calculations, design reviews, and technical recommendations
- Conduct slope stability, settlement, and other geotechnical analyses
- Collaborate with project managers, regional engineering teams, and external stakeholders
- Provide technical support during project planning, design, and construction phases
- Assist with troubleshooting field and construction-related geotechnical issues
- Review and approve foundation and ground improvement designs
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and client deliverables
- Deliver technical presentations and participate in project meetings and workshops
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering principles
- Experience performing geotechnical analyses and engineering calculations
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, and project specifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities in a remote working environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in the future
- Experience with shallow foundations, deep foundations, or ground improvement systems
- Familiarity withgeotechnical software such as:
- SLIDE
- SLOPE/W
- Settle3D
- AutoCAD
