HVAC Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team, focusing on the design and development of HVAC and mechanical systems across a variety of project types. This role involves full-cycle project engagement, including conceptual and proposal design, permit documentation, energy modeling, specification development, commissioning oversight, and construction phase review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and engineering of HVAC and mechanical systems for diverse building types.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex mechanical engineering challenges and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Participate in the development of technical documentation and specifications.
  • Conduct energy modeling and analysis to support sustainable design strategies.
  • Provide technical support during construction, including submittal reviews, site inspections, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain regular reporting on project progress and ensure deliverables meet client expectations and industry standards.
  • Estimate task durations and manage workload to meet project schedules with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in HVAC and mechanical system design.
  • Familiarity with plumbing systems is advantageous.
  • Proficient in design software such as Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of the construction process and industry practices.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam; experience with energy modeling tools like HAP or TRACE is a plus.
  • Technical expertise in systems including air distribution, hydronics, steam, refrigeration, humidity control, industrial ventilation, compressed air, and fuel systems.
  • Experience across multiple sectors such as industrial, commercial, laboratory, life sciences, hospitality, and manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Commitment to providing responsive and professional service to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members at all levels.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not mandatory.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
