HVAC Project Manager - Minneapolis

Our client is one of the leading mechanical contractors in the Minneapolis market, delivering HVAC, plumbing, piping, and building systems solutions across a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial projects. They have built a reputation for long-term customer relationships, collaborative project delivery, and high-quality workmanship across the Twin Cities. The business works on a wide range of projects from healthcare and education to commercial office, manufacturing, hospitality, and large-scale facilities.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to join their team and lead commercial mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of commercial HVAC construction projects from award through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and manpower plans.
  • Coordinate with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, design teams, and internal operations staff.
  • Oversee procurement of equipment and materials to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates on project performance.
  • Manage project financials including cost tracking, forecasting, billing, and job profitability.
  • Ensure all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Support field leadership teams and provide solutions to project challenges as they arise.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HVAC or mechanical construction project management experience.
  • Experience managing commercial mechanical projects valued from $1M+.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, piping systems, mechanical construction methods, and project delivery.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and change management.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
